Eszter Gál is a dancer, teacher, organizer, currently working at the University of Theater and Film Arts, leading the movement training program. She has been working in the field of Somatics and Improvisation Performance Art since 1993. She is one of the co-founders of Artman MM Association, co-leader of Co. Tánceánia and established Kontakt Budapest in 2002, as an umbrella for programming CI, Improvisation and Somatics. She is a guest teacher at Master workshops and International Festivals across Europe and the US. She is one of the co-founders and project team members of IDOCDE (www.idocde.net) and has been working in several Erasmus+ projects (LEAP, REFLEX Europe) on documenting contemporary dance teaching. She began her PhD studies at the University of Theater and Film Arts Budapest, researching the Hungarian legacy of Contact Improvisation and Somatic Education and analyzing their methodology for performance art education.
